Work Work Sleep Repeat

When January 2021 began I was stressed out with the holidays and family situations and money and when I could walk again, and so much more. Now, I may be crutch free but I am still struggling with pain. And stairs LOL I finally reached the physio department again and they informed me that my number has not changed at all in the last 3 months. Since I can not afford the physio bill or the fuel to get there and back…well I guess I just keep doing what I’m doing and pray it all works out.

I am back to full time hours for at least the next month and these last 2 weeks have utterly exhausted me! The workplace is super short staffed due to Covid and just when we think we have our employees back, there is another outbreak in the city and more people have to isolate. There have been only a few (less than 20) workers test positive, thankfully. With the way the public is still acting, I really am surprised there hasn’t been more.

Anyway, today is my only day off for the next little bit and I have a whole list of neglected things to accomplish. I can’t see it all getting done, but this recovering perfectionist has been learning more hard lessons in the way of getting things done.

The kids are doing well in school and I think they are doing better than before since the classes are only half the normal size. I’m grateful for so many things this pandemic has brought and I hate to admit that I really do hope that things don’t go back to what we considered normal to quickly. For now, I am learning to sit back and enjoy the coffee, light some candles during the day and even listen to more music. Practicing hygge this year is going to be a top priority in our home 🙂

For now I am onto my next task of the day and I hope to get back here today to do some reading and catch up with all of you! Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!

Thanks Allan, All the work is probably what is helping my knee get better honestly 😀 And the shifts I’ve been working let’s me get the kids off to school in the morning before I go and be back in time to help with homework and tuck them in to bed. It just doesn’t leave much time for anything else lol

Hope you’re staying well!

I had to look up “hygge.” Hm, that is what I will also work on. I hope you the best of hygge. Winter seems the perfect time to practice such things.

I’ll be honest, when I read your blog I feel akin to these feelings you share. Maybe it’s a mom thing. Maybe it’s an anxiety or depression thing. Maybe it’s a person who works more hours than they should. But, your hygge is definitely a nice idea. 🙂 Thank you for another honest post.

Thanks Val. Life is a struggle regardless of age, race, place or work. Honestly, some days all I can do to practice hygge is to light some candles while I’m doing the dishes or folding the endless laundry lol. I’ve always battled with depression but over the last year I feel like I’ve got a better handle on it. I believe it’s because I’ve been forced to really slow down (other than at work) and face life head on.
Nothing like a good ol’ pandemic to make you see the things you’ve been hiding from your whole adult life lol. I recommend everyone try it at least once LOL
