I just want to pop in and say Happy New Year to everyone!

Are you one who likes to make resolutions? Set goals?

Personally I like to choose a certain word or phrase to focus on for the year. I started this a couple of years ago and I found that I felt a lot better about myself 😉 I found that by omitting the entire New Years Resolution fiasco from my life, I was more willing to start the new year with hope instead of dread. I hated ringing in the new year knowing that whatever I really wanted to do that year was going to ultimately get forgot, ignored or I would fail miserably. I have chosen my word for the year and I’m really excite about it! Last year I chose the word “LOVE”. I practiced showing and receiving love, learned to start loving myself by practicing self-compassion and being less judgmental of myself and therefore being less judgmental of others. I feel over the last couple of years of really focusing (focus was my word for 2018 because I like squirrels :D) on getting to know myself and getting better mentally, I have really come a long way. I’m proud of myself. And this isn’t a place that was easy to get to. Next week I will share what my word of 2020 is and why I picked it.
Are you feeling optimistic about the new year? Or perhaps a tad dreadful?

Looking forward to your word Angie. Not sure why they chose the Roaring 20s to refer to this decade. My guess is that it was a decade of hope for prosperity after WWI and before the Great Depression (the Dirty 30s). Perhaps if we all have hope, the situation in the world will improve. My word is Vision 2020 and I hope the Vision is for progress. Wishing you all the best in 2020. Allan

I’m feeling optimistic about the new year, new challenges and new goals – tho’ I haven’t quite decided what they’ll be yet. Looking forward to reading about your new word too Angie. It might give me some ideas lol. Wishing you all the very best for 2020.
