Road Tripping

My daughter and I are heading to Blackfalds this Thursday. Today we both woke up with a cold. She is worse off than I am right now but I think by tomorrow morning I could be feeling pretty lousy. I hope I can shake it as fast as it hit. I refuse to cancel this trip.

My friend had gone to Ontario in September and was supposed to stay with us for a couple of days on her way home. That was the week my whole house got covid for the 2nd time. Everyone tested negative before she was to arrive. The day before is when it hit me…hard. I was so sick I couldn’t even drink water. My husband had to hold the glass to my lips and hold my head up so I could take a few little sips. I was so disappointed that I got sick. She is a nurse and obviously couldn’t come then.

We planned on having a girls weekend at her place for this weekend coming up. Now we get a cold 😦

I’m staying positive though! We will feel better by then. We have to.

I am a little nervous about driving though. There’s a round about and those terrify me LOL I will plan my route around it. I will also be giving my daughter a crash course on using the GPS on my phone. And I’m hoping for decent driving conditions. That means all this crazy snow better be done with after the 5-10cm tomorrow. I’ve lost track of how much we got over the last little bit. Highways were closed all around us after the first dump of about 20-25cms and that’s when I stopped keeping track. Yesterday the Alberta klipper went through but we were spared the worst of it, thank goodness. Today was a clean up day to get ready for tomorrow.

I have been working hard with my baking to save the money I need for fuel for this trip. It’s been nice baking regularly again. I missed it. I will continue the baking to start saving for my trip next year. Not sure where it will be for sure yet. I’m hoping to get far enough in Ontario that my half sister from Quebec and I can find a place to meet up. I have family in Hamilton that I would love to meet and more in Laval, Sherbrook and Montreal if I can manage to make it that far into Quebec. I have dreams and those dreams cost money LOL

Hope everyone is healthy and well! Until next time.
