Easter Weekend

I’m currently sitting here in the living room with my laptop and while I’m sipping my coffee and reflecting on the Easter’s of yesteryear, I’m refereeing the kids and wondering where the years have gone. Holidays are so different now compared to when I was young. I wish things didn’t have to change sometimes. Then again…if things didn’t change then I wouldn’t be sitting here in the town I was raised with 3 amazing kids of my own.

Easter was pretty rushed this year. Last year we went all out with decorating and hiding the eggs and all sorts of fun and learning. The big hunt and Easter meal was at their Grandma’s this time, which meant less clean up on my end 🙂

We watched the Easter story on Youtube while we decorated eggs instead of reading about it. The last couple of times, I found that the kids weren’t enjoying it as much with it being read. They enjoyed watching the video I found much more. My daughter was still talking about it over the weekend, a whole week after we watched it.

Happy belated Easter to all of you and your families! From Angie, MacKenzie, Brody, Karina and Ryan.

The Little Ones do grow big, do they not. Your reminiscing got me thinking how our Easters have changed form the days of putting my large yardwork shirts on the kids and covering the table with a shower curtain, before allowing them ear the egg dyes. Then the fun of letting them throw the left over dye out into the back yad snow bank. Then planning Easter egg hunts until the older kids were old enough top plan them for the younger ones. Time passes by whether we want it too or not, but the sweet memories linger. Enjoy your time with them Angie. Allan
