It’s Nearing The End

It’s already the beginning of December. This year is almost over. The year we couldn’t wait for because of 2020, which turned out to be even crazier than we could have imagined. With 2021 coming to an end, what can we expect for 2022?

I can’t think too much about it without my anxiety going crazy so I’m concentrating on the positive things 🙂

My son, Brody, will be turning 12 at the beginning of February and we are planning to have him get his Hunters Safety so he can learn to hunt. I also want to get him his babysitting course so I can feel better about having look after his siblings.

This is Karina making Lasagna Roll Ups the other night for supper

Karina will be turning 10 and my biggest plan for her is just to help her learn to deal with all her feelings! Not an easy thing to do when this is something I’m still learning. I figure we can learn together and she likes the idea, at least for now.

I’m also trying to get the kids to help in the kitchen more because it’s important they learn the basics of cooking. This is something I struggled with when I moved out on my own. I had started this a couple of years ago but they quickly lost interest and I would always end up finishing the meal on my own.

I’m planning on keeping my full-time job even though I find myself struggling to keep up with everything else in life. This might change, of course, depending on what kind of changes we are faced with in the line of pandemics and laws and overall stress.

My current read

I’m 87% done for my 2021 reading challenge on Goodreads. I started with a goal of 10 books and flew past that in no time! I changed it to 20 and when I reached that, I changed to 30. Secretly I wanted to make it to 50 but with being so busy, it’s a miracle I’m at 26 books now. I don’t know how I’m going to do 4 books in the next month though! I’m only about an hour into my current read with two more books waiting for me at the library. I do have an audio book that will hopefully be a quick listen for my days off when I’m cleaning.

One last little note. I attempted to use my phone to post about my day out hunting but I’ve had trouble with that before. This time it worked better but my photos didn’t show up. I got those added today, along with the punctuation and spelling errors, in case you were wondering what happened. I thought it would be a good way to keep up with posting and reading everyone’s blogs but I guess I’ll have to accept that my time here will be sporadic at best, at least for now.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

The pages of the year flip by so quickly. My oldest will turn 35 in a few days. How did that happen? Enjoy everyday. Help with cooking starts when you make something delicious that they can taste as they go along and enjoy when it is done. They will thank you for this later, Angie. I was always the one who helped Mom in the kitchen and almost 60 years later, I still love cooking and baking. Happy December. Allan

Wow Angie, children grow up so quickly. I have grandchildren around the same age as your’s
I am thankful that I learned how to cook and bake from my mother and maternal grandmother. I have also learned bits and pieces from people who have been in my life at one point or another.
2021 has gone by fast, at least that is my feelings. The old adage about getting older is the feeling of time going by faster.
