Happy Canada Day!!!

No fireworks today but we usually don’t go out to watch any even when they’re on! In a couple of years maybe, but the kids get pretty cranky when we don’t get home until midnight due to a small display of sparklies in the sky and a long drive.

It’s been a crazy whirlwind since I was last here and I have really missed catching up with everyone! I’m still behind (story of my life really) but I managed to get quite a bit reading done 🙂

I had some challenges with my mental health journey and so I needed to put a lot of focus and energy into that and just trying to keep my head above water. I know I’m not alone in that area, so many of us are struggling. I will be taking more time away during the next month for sure as I spend the majority of my time with the kids doing summer things.

Did you have any plans for Canada Day?

Hi! First off, thanks for popping in! I started this blog for a number of reasons and if you look through the posts you will see all sorts of randomness. I'm a mom of 3 living in a small village in Saskatchewan. We are a household that is on the go a lot with the nearest city an hour away. We love reading, going for walks, playing at as many parks as we can find and just hanging out.
I struggle with anxiety, depression, & ptsd but strive to find the positive in the every day ordinary moments and thank the good Lord for all the blessings I have :)
My Mental Health journey has recently reminded me of my love for all kinds of art, writing poetry being the first to reintroduce myself to. It's hard to open up and let those feelings flow after being buried so deep for so long.
I have a little bit of everything here so I won't take it personally if you don't like or connect to everything I write, but I do really appreciate you being here and sharing in this journey of me re-discovering my true self through words and thoughts that don't always make sense to anyone but myself :D

One reply on “Happy Canada Day!!!”

Hi Angie. Yes, Canada Day was a bit surreal yesterday. No trip into the city for a walk and celebration. Likely a good thing as the rains came down in torrents. The best we could manage was a visit with neighbours on our back deck (physically distancing, of course. As to fireworks, I was awoken at least four times in the night by locals setting them off (the latest at 2 AM). Also awoken by the 11:50 PM and 12:10 AM trips of our local inconsiderate Coal Roller. Propping my eyes open now. Hope you are doing better and that the rest of the week is easier for you. Stay well. Allan
